The Smoked Pork Loin recipe that I'm sharing here is inspired by one from Hawgeyes BBQ in Ankeny, Iowa. Mike and Bret are good friends, great cooks and they run the absolute best website for BBQ sauces, rubs and tools. The pork loin recipe they used to help them win the prestigious World Pork Expos' "Barbeqlossal" in 1999 is a good one and Mike was generous enough to guide me to a reasonable facsimile for the book.
