The Great Lakes BBQ Association was proud to participate in the Senior Q event not once, but twice again this year. On Friday, October 12, GLBBQA VP Dick Bourdow and his wife Lori organized a bbq lunch consisting of pulled pork, bbq chicken breasts, beans and slaw for approximately 150 Senior Citizens at Independence Village in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Assisting with the event were GLBBQA President Mike Terry, Treasurer Bruce Bissonnette, Director Scott Fischer and Secretary Troy Conner and his wife Sherri.
On Saturday, October 27, GLBBQA member Rich Parker organized a luncheon of pulled pork, potato salad, cole slaw, beans, corn bread and dessert for approximately 300 senior citizens at the Porter Hills facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Assisting Rich were GLBBQA members Mark Rasmussen, Mark & Lindy Roberts, Mark Sovic, and Stan Wauzyski. Also in attendance were GLBBQA President Mike Terry and Secretary Troy Conner.
Both events were deemed a huge success, the senior's enjoyed the lunches and the company. We are looking forward to expanding the locations and our involvement next year.
