Q’ing For a Cause
Colorado Springs, CO
November 4, 2006
The Flying W Ranch was the site of the 1st Annual Q’ing For a Cause event held by The Rocky Mountain BBQ Association. Twelve teams cooked over 1,000 pounds of pork butts and a hundred pounds of turkey.
The weather was perfect for this outside event in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The first meat hit the smokers at about 7:30 a.m. and was all finished and bagged up by 7:30 p.m.
The finished product was donated to the Care N Share food bank in Colorado Springs. The food bank supplies assistance to several senior citizen organizations located in the area, as well as other charity organizations.
Thanks to Brad Hammond and his crew of volunteers for organizing the cook. All of the participants had a wonderful time socializing and helping this cause.
