Senior Q Month
October has been proclaimed by Governor Vilsack as Senior Q Month. In celebration of this event, Cookies Food Products has been delivering barbecue meals to Twilight Acres in Wall Lake, Senior meals in Wall Lake, Odebolt and Lake View, Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Center, Blackhawk Life care Center in Lake View and Park View Care Center in Sac City.
The residents at these locations have enjoyed the meals greatly. Some of the comments overheard were, "this is the best barbecue chicken I've ever had" and "that sure is nice of Speed to do this". Others reminisced of times past, grilling out on picnics with friends and family.
Speed Herrig, owner of Cookies Food Products said, "It has been a pleasure doing this for the past two years. It is nice to brighten their day by doing such a good neighbor gesture. We hope others across the state and nationwide can do the same thing in their communities."
